Okie dokie so this week flew by pretty quickly and I we didn't really have a ton of time to work in our area. On Tuesday we went to resistencia to have a multi-zone conference with President Franco. He taught us about personal revelation and also the importance of unity in our companionship. He also taught us a little bit about the importance of the Spirit in EVERYTHING that we do. It was a very very spiritual meeting and I learned a lot. Its so interesting to experience two mission presidents and how they do things so differently. I think its cool to see how different men can be in so many different ways...yet at the same time be sooo similar with the knowledge and application of the gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives.
On Wednesday we had our reunion de distrito and we learned
about planning for effectively for our investigators and focusing our studies on
them. We didn't have a ton of time to work on Wednesday because of the district
meeting but we were able to find a 21 year old kid named Gabriel who is golden.
Literally probably the most prepared person I have ever met on my mission. He
is the nicest, most sincere person ever and he is super super interested in the
church and all of its teachings. On Thursday and Friday we went on divisions
with the zone leaders and I went to their area to work with Elder Howlett. We
had a really good time. He working in the office for 9 months with president
Heyman and has sooo many stories. I love just asking him about all of the
things that happened in the office with President Heyman. It would definitely
be a cool experience to be able to work so closely with the President for so
long and to learn from him so often.
On Saturday we had an activity at our church and Gabriel
came with us. It was a football tennis tournament and churipaneada which is
just sausage on bread. But he had a super fun time and there were a ton of kids
that showed up. Unfortunately we aren't allowed to play but I will definitely be
bringing it back to the states because it is one of the funnest looking games
ever and it doesn't involve any running.
On Sunday Gabriel and Ingrid came to church. Gabriel loved
it and is excite for his baptism. Ingrid has come to church 4 times now and is
really enjoying it, the only problem is that we are having a really hard time
helping her understand baptism and accepting a real date. On Saturday we
watched the Restoration and set a firm date for the 6 of September with her. I
really think she se be able to be prepared for that date.
That is pretty much everything that happened this week. We
have transfers on Wednesday and I am not sure if I will still be here but
probably not because I have been here for 6 months now, but anything is
possible. I love you all and I know that this is the true church of Jesus Christ.
Love Elder Anderson (JOe)
